The machine didn't spin my clothes/my clothes are still wet.

If the washing machines are overloaded, clothes will still be wet at the end of the wash cycle. Make sure the machine is only loaded to 3/4 full prior to starting the machine to prevent this problem in the future.

Can I add an extra wash or rinse?

Once the machine has started, you have about a minute to choose additional options.  Unfortunately, an extra wash or rinse cannot be added after that.

What machine should I use for this?

We recommend that the washer tub should be about 3/4 of the way full once your loads of laundry have been added to the machine. Sometimes, it can be like trying on clothes.  Pick a size you think will work best, and move up or down a size, if needed.  Just make sure the tub is 3/4 of the way full with your laundry prior to starting the machine.

How long does a wash cycle take?

A typical wash cycle takes 25-30 minutes.

How long does it take to dry clothes?

Most loads of laundry take about 30 minutes to dry on high heat.  Jeans and heavy items may take a little longer. It is best to start the machine with at least $1.25 so the machine can heat and dry your clothes properly. You can add more time, depending on how dry you want your clothes

There's no suds in the washing machine.

Suds are often a misconception.  HE (High Efficiency) detergents are are low-sudsing detergents, and most major brands are designed to use a small amount of soap, and not create a lot of suds.

There's not enough water in the machine.

Most washers take at least 2-3 minutes to fill with water.  Due to improvements in technology, new machines don't use as much water.  The machine may not look full, but due to the improvements in technology, your clothes are actually getting cleaner with less soap and less water.

The dryer didn't dry my clothes.

It typically takes a minimum of 30 minutes to dry clothes.  Make sure you start the dryer with at least $1.25 to allow the dryer to heat up properly.

Benefits of using a laundromat.

If you have a home washer or dryer, our laundromats offer the convenience of getting all of your laundry done at once.  Our extra-large machines are able to handle items such as rugs and comforters that may be too large for your home machine.  We also have many customers who find it convenient to catch up on a week's worth of vacation laundry, or a semester's worth of laundry all at one time.  If you are moving, or even have a home washer or dryer waiting on a repair, we invite you to Make Life Clean at MLC.
